Here at The BoneYard, we believe in giving back.  While making money is important, it isn’t the top priority for us.  Because of that, we aim to take a different approach to doing business by prioritizing the outcomes of people and our environments. First comes the people:

The BoneYard will prioritize people by volunteering our time as coaches in youth sports to help develop good habits from an early age.  Many studies, including ones from the National Institute of Health, show that participation in sports, increases many metrics in childhood benefits such as better health (lower body fat percentages, lower pulse rates, etc.), less emotional and behavioral issues, lowered peer problems, and doing better in schools. Coaching youth sports helps children learn to lose gracefully since losing (occasionally) is natural and helps them understand teamwork which is essential to everyday life.  We will also hold seminars in the community to help foster other health and wellness habits for personal growth (cooking classes, time maximizing ideas, group hikes…etc.) to help with community engagement and social connections.

The other way that The BoneYard will give back is through community clean-ups, trail maintenance, and educating others on ways we can improve our environments through minimizing our own carbon footprints.  It’s common for people to hate on big companies for environmental damage they’re causing but if we look inward, there are a ton of ways WE can make an impact a little at a time.  Many organizations, including the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) give examples of how individuals can make an impact and by spreading awareness, this company can do its part to make the local (hopefully global) environment a little better than the way it is now.  I’ve always loved the quote “We do not inherit the Earth from our ancestors, we borrow it from our children.” While it’s origins, according to the internet, are largely unknown (possibly Native American…Chief Seattle?), it rings true to us regardless. #boneyardstrong #bettertoday
